Dating another grad student
It’s no secret that meeting people is much harder at this stage in life.
Once we’ve established ourselves a group of friends, few of us are likely to branch out too far.
Or drowning yourself in the ever-piling mountain of work that seems to accompany this wonderful time of year. and most people are pretty eager about the prospect of constantly meeting new people. We function very much like our “in-the-workplace” peers.
But all this really means is that the founders have thus been screwed by their own kind.
And isn't why they started the site in the first place?
And if you’re single, you might be planning on heading to a bar tonight.
Or curling up in your pyjamas with a movie and a tub of ice cream. In undergrad, you’re surrounded by opportunities to meet people: in class, extracurriculars, socials…
You might remember me from my college days as HC's Real Live College Guy, where I advised on picking up college guys, detecting cheaters, and what never to talk about with a guy among many other pressing college guy-related issues. Though love and law are feared by everyone, I'll put down the memo pad for a moment to continue sharing my wisdom to help collegiettes™ everywhere with slightly older guys and their love life (not legal) dilemmas.
I just started dating this law school student but he is SO busy with work.
On "Datemyschool.com," a new website made only for grad students, students can select which schools they'd like to date students from, and only those students will be shown their profile, and vice versa.
The site's founder explained its selective premise to the NYT by saying that "his generation was bred to attend the best schools, maximize revenues and grab the most gilded opportunities, even in matters of the heart." What's funny about this new "elite" dating website that supposedly will pre-screen your dates for you by the school they went to (so that it's easy for the best and the brightest to date people that are the same caliber as them) is that its owners are making the website sound like 1) kids with good educations and similar backgrounds are having a hard time finding one another. And 2) it's going to deliver you the top echelon of the dating world.
